“incisive and expressive…enchanting and sensuous…”
– New York Concert Review

“excellent…a confirmed concert artist of international stature.”
– Il Nuovo Pontino of Rome, Italy

Dr. Kris Palmer, flutist, made her New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall in 2001 to rave reviews as a winner in the Artists International Competition, and she has performed as a soloist throughout the United States and Europe. In addition to winning awards from the National Flute Association, she has published a book on Baroque ornamentation techniques, and her solo CD, Versailles, features her own arrangements of French Baroque music. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Rice University, and she is a former member of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Palmer currently performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestra musician in classical music, musical theatre, and popular contemporary music throughout Northern California.

In addition to her work as a soloist and orchestra musician, Dr. Palmer thoroughly enjoys bringing live music to private events, and she has a wealth of experience coordinating music for any event, indoor or outdoor, rain or shine. Weddings, anniversary celebrations, and holiday parties are joyous events, and she is happy to provide her artistry to special occasions such as these.  For wedding ceremonies, ensemble favorites include the flute with a harp, the flute with a guitar, or combining the flute with string instruments such as violins and cello. These groupings also provide wonderful background music of easy-listening classical music, Broadway favorites, popular love songs, and light jazz tunes for receptions or cocktail parties.  Favorite songs or special requests can also be performed.

Dr. Palmer is happy to provide her solo CD, Versailles, as a complementary gift upon request.
