Jules Rowell & The Kenny Durham Project was created by Jules Rowell, Bay Area trombonist/arranger, to highlight and pay respect to the great compositions of Kenny Dorham, great jazz trumpeter and composer.

Jules Rowell currently resides in the Bay Area where he plays trombone and makes the best arrangements for many different groups such as The Kronos String Quartet, The Mike Vax Orchestra, Teo Macero, Mark Little, Louie Romero and Masacote, Hot Club of San Francisco, Pete Escovedo, and Francisco Aguabella. His touring experience includes Woody Herman, Ray Charles, and the Latin rock band known as Azteca. Jules has also performed with Eddie Palmeri, Tony Bennett, Tom Harrell, and Woody Shaw.

The Kenny Dorham compositions have been re-arranged in a danceable Latin jazz format using afro –Cuban rhythms and jazz soloists. This band is good for the mind and the body (danceable be-bop). Co-led by drummer Bill Belasco, this group plans to continue making great Latin jazz utilizing over 50 compositions by Kenny Dorham. The band features a unique line-up of trombone, two trumpets, piano, bass, drums, and congas.
