I have been playing and teaching professionally for over 35 years, and I work with all ranges of experience, beginners to advanced. I have extensive experience in Jazz, Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, Big Band, Funk, and Pop, Classical, and Rudimental drumming. I have recorded over a 100 recordings to my credit, including one nominated for a Grammy. If you are wanting to get your technique really together, I have world championship level experience as a snare drummer and teacher with the Santa Clara Vanguard and Concord Blue Devils Drum & Bugle Corps. I have a patient nature and work closely with my students to ensure that the lessons are understood.

Past teachers include: Peter Erskine, Mike Clark, David Garibadli, Anthony Cirone of the San Francisco Symphony to name a few. I hold a B.A. in Percussion/Jazz studies from San Jose State University.

A fun and exciting part of my teaching platform is a highly interactive instructional DVD on Afro-Cuban drum set styles and techniques that will guide you thorough a lot of information. This DVD features about 90 lessons and 3 hours of material, including 4 performances by my band Soul Sauce.  I teach at my home studio in South San Francisco and it is outfitted with 2 drum sets and a lot of extras that I think make it a great place to learn.
